Charles Christian Storms, the Tokyo based film actor, translator, director appears in Japanese features acting in flawless Japanese. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 30, 1968. He attended Indiana University graduating with double major BA in Economics and Japanese Language and Culture in 1990. After working for photographer Gene Rogier for a few months, he moved to Tokyo on Halloween of the same year.He spent a year teaching English then attended graduate school getting a masters in Japanese literature from Sophia University. He then worked for a Mafioso Sasakawa "Peace" Foundation. He then broke into the film business. His first film credit was a coordinator for the feature Napolean, an Australia/Japan coproduction. He was the assistant to film producer Charles Hannah (The World's Fastest Indian) for a year and a half learning the production/producing end of filmmaking before working in the world of Japanese comics (manga). His introduction to acting came while working as the translation supervisor for the Japanese television dubbed version of South Park. After years of directing actors in dubbed versions and video games, he studied method acting at Yoko Narahashi's United Performers Studio. He still studies with Hedy Sontag (Lee Stasburg Institute Los Angles teacher) when she's in Tokyo.He made his feature film debut in the Japanese omnibus film Jam Films (2002) (segment 'Justice') playing opposite one of Japan's biggest new stars Satoshi Tsumabuki. Christian makes a living doing english subtitles for Japanese films mostly Miike's works, translating/directing video games like MetalWolf Chaos and selects one key film per year to act in. Nagurimono (2005) featured as the bad guy with all lines in Japanese and a love scene and Pavillion Saramandre (2006).His production company acts as a local production company for Discovery Channel shows like "Zero Hour", "One Step Beyond" and "Beyond Tomorrow" as well as music videos like for El Presidente where he acts as the local line producer. His group of partners in crime have produced shows like the Japan episodes of America's Next Top Model and Zero Hour, a reinactment doco of the sarin gas attack on Tokyo's subway made with 6 people and not one permit.As a director, he was the first unit director for Ellen Perry's Fall of Fujimori - Sundance 2005.
