Mini Biography / Biyografi
Beginning piano lessons at age 5 and composing shortly thereafter, Paul Spaeth is currently attending the University of Southern California to study film scoring with world-renowned professors - active and highly respected members of the composition and film scoring industries. One of only four students accepted worldwide in the highly selective program, it is no doubt this young composer/pianist is destined for success. His first year in LA brought him two credits in large-budget films as music composer and pianist (one by the youngest film director to ever be on the Academy board). Paul Spaeth has sold thousands of CDs entirely on a grass-roots effort through his company SpaethMusic, Inc. and has performed solo for an arena of 9,000+ people. Other interesting facts include his better-than-Top-Ten position on Amazon.com's Overall and Indie download charts (the only artist on the Overall charts without a record deal), nearly one million downloads on MP3.com and being recognized with one of the Top 20 songs of 1999, as well as the Top Artist in LA. With an Amazon.com sales rank peaking 200, Paul Spaeth is currently selling better than similar artists such as Jim Brickman and even platinum Enya albums. Paul won the Pepsi-Summerfest Talent Search at age 15 (the youngest competing) by performing solo piano against rock and pop groups. Paul is currently working on his goals of songwriting and film scoring success, while also performing and working on future album releases. His musical taste and sound varies, easily allowing him to score several genres of film and write for, or perform in, both the popular and classical worlds of music.
