Lead singer for alternative rock band "The Starlight Vampires", Matt Gutelius began his acting career at age 5 when his parents submitted his picture to a local casting agency hoping the experience would help cure him of his shyness. In 1976, he was cast as an extra in the Charles Bronson film Telefon (1977). In high school, he left acting behind to concentrate on football, eventually going on to play in College and the Semi-Pro's before injuries ended his career.With his football career over, Matt returned to acting. He auditioned for enrollment at the prestigious American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.) where he spent the next few years studying drama. During his training at A.C.T., he took a one day workshop at a local casting agency where they were casting for a new television show called "Nash Bridges" (1996). After a brief meeting with the casting agent, he was quickly added to Don Johnson's Special Investigations Unit as an SIU Cop, which he played for 13 episodes on the hit television series from 1999-2001.In 2001 Matt Gutelius founded his production company "Fast Car Films" combining his love of American Muscle Cars and Filmmaking. That year, he made his directorial debut with "Street Racer" a film in he wrote, directed and starred in. Later that year he wrote and directed his second film entitled "Girl Racer", in which he choreographed two hi-powered muscle cars racing at 100+mph as he filmed hanging outside of an old Camaro at dangerous speeds, while his production assistant held onto him to keep him from falling out.
