Mini Biography / Biyografi
Eric S. Dow is an artist who is most comfortable behind the lens of a camera or in front of his editing bay. He brings the love of his craft and his professional experience to his production company, Time Stand Still Productions, named after the song Time Stand Still by Eric's favorite band, Rush. Through this company, he will continue to put out great work, producing, directing, and editing short films and trailers-eventually moving on to producing his own features.Hailing from Toledo, Ohio, Eric was born to work in the film industry. In the flat landscape that surrounded him, he immersed himself in the movies that he grew up watching. He counted the likes of Rocky Balboa, Chief Brody, and Kal-El among his elders. He looked up to them, and idolized them as one would their favorite uncle. At the University of Toledo Eric decided to put his boundless energy into filmmaking and become a storyteller. While he was still learning his craft, he began entering (and winning!) local film festivals. It seemed he had an innate ability to capture an audience.Unsatisfied with the scope of what Toledo had to offer, he headed out west during Spring Break '03 and found himself in Los Angeles. During his short time there, he was hired to work on the feature film Lightning Bug, directed by Rob Hall. Within weeks, he packed up his life in Toledo and moved to LA. Just three days after his arrival, he landed a job on the "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" Special Extended Edition DVD! He developed relationships with everyone from old Hollywood pros like the producers of Batman: Dead End, ArchAngel, and World's Finest, Simon Tams and Daren Hicks (who would become his mentors) to up-and-coming directors like Robert Meyer Burnett director of the independent hit Free Enterprise and Sandy Collora. He worked with the latter on the explosive short films, Batman Dead End and World's Finest. In 2004, he shot and edited a music video "Get Your Dead On" for the band Scum of the Earth, which aired on MTV's Headbanger's Ball. Also in 2004 he edited the documentary "Disinformation Nation" and later shot the feature length version. In September of '05 he created Academy Award-winner Scott Leva's stunt reel, film/ television star Larry Romano's impressive acting reel, and he edited the hysterical mocumentary "Billy Schultz"After the birth of his daughter Annabelle, Eric moved his family to the New York City area in December of 2005. In 2006, he started editing for "The Burg," an original hit web sitcom that can be seen on theburgtv.com. After finishing his work for "The Burg," Eric edited "White Cure," a medical drama by award-winning director Fernando Scarpa, currently on the festival circuit. Most recently Eric has started working for "Nickelodeon" editing "Nick Extras" for the Brand Image Group.Eric has created TimeStandStillProductions.com in an effort to gain greater exposure and create a legacy that his wife and daughter can be proud of...
