Eric Johner was born in Evanston, Illinois and attended New Trier High School, where he was not involved in acting but displayed a rebellious streak and played sports. Later he studied acting at The Piven Theatre Group, where he caught the eye of Piven founder Byrne Piven and was put on scholarship, Eric did office work and carpentry at the theatre to reciprocate and help pay for workshops. The Piven Theatre is home to many actors such as John Cusack, Aidan Quinn, and Lili Taylor. He continued to work in the great Chicago theatre community and was eventually accepted into the prestigious Steppenwolf Theatre's Acting Residency program. He later went on to star opposite Gary Sinise in the Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" on Broadway and in London. The show won a Tony Award on Broadway, and Eric garnerd critical acclaim for his moving and subtle portrayl of the suicidal Billy Bibbitt. IMDb Mini Biography By:
