Elen M. Costa, was born Elen Mary Kwarta on November 22, 1961 in Plainview, Long Island, New York. Born the fourth of eight children to Carolyn and Joseph Kwarta, she grew up in New York and then New Jersey before moving to California and marrying Joseph P. Costa. They reside in Los Angeles with their four daughters. Elen enjoyed a long history as a registered nurse before pursuing a career in theater arts. She began performing in local musical theater productions during the mid 1990s and has since appeared in various television series including "Guilty or Innocent" and "Untold Stories of the ER".
