Katherine Anne Evagelou was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey. At the age of three, Katie knew she wanted to be an Actress. One day, she told her mother, "Me in TV" while watching a television show with her parents. Katie told her parents she wanted to be in her Kindergarten's school play and the moment she first stepped on stage, acting became her passion and turned out to be her life-long dream. Since the age of five, she has performed in many stage productions in her elementary, middle and high schools. Katie enjoys being in front of a live audience and loves the camera.The summer of 1994, Katie got accepted and attended, The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles. She played Lillie Mae in "The Me Nobody Knows".In 1998, she graduated with honors from Atlantic City High School in New Jersey. She then attended Marietta College in Ohio; where she was the recipient of a Theatre Scholarship.Katie moved to Hollywood, California after completing her freshman year at Marietta College in 1999. Her pursuit of a dream began on January 1, 2000. She worked very hard to earn her eligibility in the unions by working grueling hours with non-union pay on television sets as a "Background Artist/Extra".Katie made a decision and joined the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists union on her 20th birthday. That allowed her to work three months straight, as a recurring "Student" on "So Little Time" starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson.A few months later, another credit that's not listed in the main page is "My Wife & Kids". Katie played the daughter's friend in the second episode and that led her to become a Member of the Screen Actors Guild on July 25, 2001. She has definitely paid her dues.Soon after that, she landed a role on "The West Wing". It was an emotional episode about 9/11/01. It took one week to film and during that time, Katie was also rehearsing for two shows at the Next Stage Theatre on Sunset Blvd.Katie has continued to perform in several well-known community theaters, such as The Whitmore-Lindley Theatre.
