Phil Greig was born on the 22nd Febuary 1970 in the town of Nelson, New Zealand. In the early 1990s he found work as a projectionist and sound technician in his home town and 5 years later, became a Technical Manager with a major cinema chain in Christchurch. In 1998 he was relocated to Wellington. In 2001 he became a part-time contract dailies projectionist. A year later he began working in the busy motion picture Labatory of Oscar winning director/producer, Peter Jackson, initially working on such projects as 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy and 'The Last Samurai' as a Lab Technician in the rushes department and as a projectionist. He later focused an interest in the systems of color balancing for Digital Intermediate (D.I) prints. He has retrained in Digital medias and now works as a technician within the Film exhibition, post production, Digital Cinema/Media and Audio Visual industries as technician.
