Paul Christie is an award-winning Producer, Director and Actor. Paul's latest production, an award-winning, Director's Guild of Canada sponsored 35mm short film titled "L'Oiseau Mort" will be screening at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival among others. Paul produced and directed the Corus Entertainment Young Filmmakers' award winning half-hour drama titled "Eugene" that was licensed to the Scream Network in the summer of 2006. An alumni of the CFTPA National Internship program, AMPIA Mentorship program, Manitoba Film and Sound Emerging Producer training program, the Director's Guild of Canada Kickstart program and the National Screen Institute Drama Prize, Paul has been mentored by many of Canada's pre-eminent producers.Paul is currently developing a new series, "Old Dogs, New Tricks" for Men TV (Global) in Canada with Executive Producer, Kyle Irving ("Capote", "Blue State", "Elijah").Paul has extensive experience as a business affairs analyst and production manager. His most recent tenure was under the direction of Frantic Films CEO and Executive Producer, Jamie Brown. Paul was responsible for New Business Development, Business Affairs Analysis, Analysis of Broadcast License Agreements and Financing Partnerships with Public and Private Equity Investors, Budgeting, Insurance, Interim Financing, Cash Flow and Financing Scenarios, Investor Relations and the Production Management of Prime Time Television for broadcast in Canada. Projects included "Quest for the Sea" (History), "Zeyda and the Hitman" (CTV), "LUCID" (Mongrel Media), "Barely Legal" (Life), "Quest for the Sky" (History), "Retail" (Showcase) and "Last Chance for Romance", starring Cheryl Hickey of "ET Canada", which took him to St. Lucia, Jamaica and the Barbados in the winter of 2004.Prior to joining Frantic Films, Paul worked alongside veteran producers Doug McLeod, Tom Cox and Jordy Randall at Alberta Filmworks, focusing exclusively on dramatic programming. He worked as a producer's assistant on "North of 60" (CBC), "After the Harvest" (CTV) and "Tom Stone" (CBC).Paul studied theatre in New York at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. He recently started studying with renowned acting coach Larry Moss. His professional engagements include starring, support and principal roles in the following; "The Lookout" (Disney), "The Protege;" (Lifetime), "Stargate: SG1" (Space), "Killer Bash" (CHUM), "Falcon Beach" (Global), "Winnie the Bear" (CBC), "The Shields Stories" (W Network), "The Crooked E" (CBS), "Seven Times Lucky" (Odeon), "Cowboys and Indians" (CBC), "Tornado Warning" (PAX), "The Battle of Mary Kay" (CBS), "Myth Quest" (CBC) and others.Paul received an Honors degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and Marketing from the University of Calgary.
