Jovanna was born in the small city of Edmonton, Alberta. At the ripe age of 2 1/2 her family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where her first performance took place on stage at age five. She began her career in the arts as a dancer with a focus on ballet. At the age of fifteen, Jovanna was scooped up by a performing arts school in Massachusetts and off she went. She studied ballet 24/7 while going to a college preparatory academy, Walnut Hill School. She had a small taste of success when she got to perform with the Boston Ballet. But she quickly realized that ballet, was not her passion. She auditioned for a Broadway Show while in her final year at WHS, and got a job. So she quickly moved off to New York City. In NYC she had the opportunity to dance with many small companies, and perform and work with a lot of the dance world's major players. But, while her talent and drive gave her a taste of success, dancing was ultimately a stepping stone to bigger things, in another medium. So, while in NYC she auditioned for a scholarship to a film and theater school and received it, thus she began attending the Weist Barron Studio in NYC.After working in Off-Broadway productions in NYC, Jovanna found that what she truly wanted to pursue was acting in film and television. This decision led her back to Vancouver where Jovanna went back to school and she continued to study Film and Theater and graduated from Vancouver Film School at the top of her class.Jovanna continues to study dance and acting on a daily basis, and is slowly building her film and acting career in Vancouver and in the near future Los Angeles.
