She belongs to the Arau family, from Mexico City, and started a career very young working in American films shot in Mexico. Some of the films are, 'The Falcon and the Snowman', 'Revenge', 'Predator', 'Old Gringo', and 'The Burning Season', among many others.In the early 90's, she was the Line Producer of the world hit Como Agua para Chocolate ('Like Water for Chocolate') working with her father, Alfonso Arau, and continued producing various Mexican films. Some of the titles are Bandidos ('Bandits') and Ambar ('Amber'), directed by multi-awarded Mexican Director/Producer, 'Luis Estrada' ('Herod's Law'), and El Segundo Aire ('A Second Chance') and Ciudades Oscuras ('Dark Cities') with successful Mexican Director/Producer, Fernando Sariñana. She also produced cultural television series for Televisa and was named Vice-President of Production for the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) in the mid-'90s.In 2001, she moved to Los Angeles to produce television commercials for the Hispanic market in the USA. She later founded FineArtAgency.com, dedicated to promote a selected group of Mexican contemporary artists, launched a voice over career (she is represented by DPN), and partnered up with Metro Producciones, a Mexican television commercial production company to represent them in the USA and offer their Production Services in Mexico.Emilia is currently developing 'Butterflies & Lightning' and producing the short 'Use as Directed' with writer/director Katherine Griffin, and producing partner Jon Bachmann.
