Dean has worked extensively as an actor for the past 8 years in television and stage in both Canada and The United States. Credits include five seasons in his critically acclaimed portrayal of Blake on Showtime's "Queer as Folk" (2000), as well as 2 years on Broadway in Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical Rent. Other television credits include guest-starring roles on Missing, 72 Hours, The News Room, Doc, Earth: Final Conflict, and Twice In A Lifetime.Stage credits include the Canadian premiere of Jonathon Larson's Tick, Tick, Boom! as well as performances at Buddies in Badtimes, Magnus Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick, Theatre Aquarius, among others. Dean is the founder and director, as well as an on-going instructor of the Armstrong Acting Studio television and film training school; currently in its 7th year of operation. As an extension of the school, Dean also serves as a screen-test advisor for many networks and feature films, as well as a preproduction and on set acting coach. Recent projects include the NBC Saturday morning hit series Darcy's Wild Life, Alliance Atlantis and Amaze Film + TV's Saint Ralph, the Darius Film's feature The Life and Hard Times oF Guy Terrifico and Showtime's "Queer as Folk" (2000).
