Jenni Olson is one of the world's leading experts on LGBT cinema history. As director of e-commerce at WolfeVideo.com she champions queer independent cinema on a daily basis. After co-founding the Minneapolis/St. Paul LGBT Film Festival in 1986, Jenni co-directed the San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, established the massive queer movie database, PopcornQ (at PlanetOut.com) and launched the first showcase for LGBT streaming media in 1995, the PlanetOut Online Cinema. Jenni has also been involved in scads of film projects, in various capacities; her debut feature film, The Joy of Life, (now available on DVD) explores butch identity and the history of suicide and the Golden Gate Bridge. Her latest archival research project, The Queer Movie Poster Book (Chronicle Books), was a 2005 Lambda Literary Award nominee. Jenni can be seen discussing many of the posters from her book in the documentary, Fabulous!: The Story of Queer Cinema. Two of her vintage movie trailer programs have recently been released on DVD: Homo Promo (from Strand Releasing) and Afro Promo (from Other Cinema DVD). She also continues to write about LGBT film for TheQWorldNews.com, indieWIRE.com and PlanetOut.com. Jenni's creative writing has appeared most recently in the anthology Get On The Bus (CitySpace, 2006), the website Mr. Beller's Neighborhood and on her Guestbian blog at OurChart.com.
